There really are no words to explain the degree to which Nanchang drivers disregard any rules of the road. But we were sent a video link that will help explain it. We did not make this video, although Paul did attempt to video some traffic scenarios from the bus window. Please keep in mind that this video was made more than 5 years ago and there has been a significant increase in the number of people in the city during that time, so magnify the number of vehicles on the road several times. Also, the video may not accurately show how often the sidewalks (or in the case of our bus) the other lane (for oncoming traffic) is used to assist your progress. Amazingly, there are relatively few accidents. (And we have now left the city so there is no longer any need to worry about our safety at the hands of the Nanchang drivers…)
