Formerly part of a temple, this 194 ft. high brick pagoda was first built in the late Tang dynasty but was rebuilt in the 18th century. Like many pagodas, its construction was said to avert disaster, while its destruction heralded the fall of the city.
The Coolest thing about this temple is that we can see it from our hotel window. Its just a short walk down a not so busy (relatively speaking) street lined with street vendors, and regular people doing every things like hanging out laundry and riding bikes and scooters around.
Teng Wang Pavilion

The impressive Teng Wang Pavilion was first built in 653 during the early Tang-Era and immortalized by poet Tang Bo. There have been 26 versions of the pavilion since then-the latest was erected in 1989 to replace the one destroyed by fire in 1926. Dance and musical performances are held in the tiny theatre on the top floor.
