We have Princess Peach! - A Dad's Perspective

Mom would probably write more eloquently, but I will try to do my best. My hope is that Aunt A (the official blog updater while we are in mainland China) will fix my Grammatical errors before she puts this up.

Mom is sleeping and I thought we’d better get something up before people thought we disappeared. We landed in Nanchang at about 1:00PM. The Nanchang airport was very serious. Much different when compared to the Hong Kong airport. They had men with heavily starched uniforms working the security and immigration areas. No one smiled or joked around. It was also very cold since they did not have any heat on in the airport. That is probably why they did not have a lot of smiles . We got to the hotel and tried to get a little settled before we had a meeting at 3:00 with our agency. They wanted to go over what we should expect when we get the babies. They also reviewed the itinerary with some added detail. We were released to go back to our rooms at 4:30 and told to return to the same room at 5:00 to get the girls. We went back to our hotel room and tried to finish getting things put away, but decided to go back to the room a little early. When we got down there we saw a bunch of the girls with the orphanage representatives. So being the excited parents that we were we quickly got into the room. Within a minute we had Cassie in our arms. It was a great feeling to finally have this journey meet its goal. The care taker gave Cassie to Lisa and there was no crying. Just Cassie and Lisa looking at each other.



The whole thing went better than I expected. I was prepared for crying and unhappiness. We watched a few of the other families get their babies and then headed back up to our room. One of the first things we did was take off the huge puffy jacket and pants to make sure there was a baby underneath all of it. We finally found her legs and arms. She is in pretty good shape and looks healthy. Yeah!! The agency told us that they should be hungry since it was past their normal feeding time. We prepared the bottle according to the care taker;s instructions. She took the bottle with no problem and finished it quickly.



We then pulled out some of the toys we had. She really enjoyed the beach ball of the world and the teething toy.



She even gave us quite a few smiles and giggled.



This has all been an answer to prayer. I know Lisa gave a list a prayer items and I know they were all answered today. God is so awesome to bring her into our lives in such a smooth way. We could not have asked for anything better. Thank you all for the prayers that you have sent our way.
